The disguised mobile police took away the corpse of their colleague and took to their heels. It was apparent that, the target of the attack was Malam Mustapha Lawan, who had been critical of the police and soldiers for the daily killing of innocent people in the state and across the country.
Bullets and cartridges, bearing police inscription, and cellular phone that fell off the hands of the assailants were recovered when they took to their heels.

Responding to the attack and discovery of police bullets and cartridges at the scene of the attack, on BBC Hausa Service, police commissioner in the state Moses said he was aware of security operation night of the attack but the Police had killed not anyone.
Malam Mustapha Lawan in also in a BBC interview confirmed the incident was the handiwork of Nigerian security intent to crush the influence of Islamic Movement in Nigeria. He said, he was the primary target of the gunmen, but Allah saved him. Malam Mustapha Lawan also confirmed the possession of exhibits bearing police colours and inscriptions, which they left behind while trying to run away in fear.

Islam is the only acceptable way of life in the sight of Allah– Shaykh Zakzaky at Gusau

By Dauda Nalado. The revered leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, his Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem    Zakzaky (H) was at the capital of ‘Shariah’ State.
He has not been to Gusau for similar occasion for the last eighteen (18) years. He was there for the closing session of the 23rd Annual National Conference on Islamic Thought slated on Sunday 20th May 2012. However a night session for the benefit of general inhabitants was organized on Saturday 19th. The Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria organized the program.
Sheikh Zakzaky (H) urged the audience to appreciate the fact that they are blessed by being human beings because they are raised above all creations. Above all we are Muslims. Islam is belief in the heart, utterance by the mouth and action by the joints. So as Muslims we have individual and collective obligations. People would be tried on the acts of ibadat and muamalat.
So a Muslim, asserted unarguably by Shaykh (H), is one who is contented and acts according to what the Prophet (SAWA) brought. Muslims are therefore not Arabs, Hausa, Fulani etc,. Islam, though established in Arabia, is a universal message. It transcends all tribal or ethnic barriers. In Nigeria people assert erroneously that we have one nation, one destiny, there is no difference in religion!
As a Muslim, blessed with the intact Qur’an and Sunnah of the noble Prophet, how can you degenerate and say that you are all the same with that one without those valuables? It is therefore helpful for us to tell the truth to our brethren in Nigeria that Islam is the only acceptable Religion with Allah. We should also act to that effect. It has become incumbent upon us to call others. We should not take Islam for granted.
Our Land has an Islamic legacy. Empires rise and fall. Similarly our current Nigerian set up would be history. There is an Empire now trying to rule the World through tyranny and aggression.- the United States of America. They occupied Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan and now trying Syria. They also vie at the vast resources in Nigeria.
Sheikh (H) reiterated that, as Muslims in this country, we have burden to be asked by God. We should express the truth. Otherwise we would be charged in front of God. Unfortunately our religion, Islam is being tribalized. We should emulate the companions of the Prophet whose struggle brought Islam to us. We must call  other people to Islam. Otherwise in the hereafter they have right to challenge us that we concealed the truth to them.

The way out for us, emphasized Malam (H) is the methodology set by the Noble Prophet. In our times, Shehu Fodio and Imam Khumayni (QS) emulated such ideals. Sayyid (H) prayed for the quick emergence of the one who would spread justice on Earth after it has been adulterated. He also prayed for the unity of Muslims. He prayed for the understanding of non Muslims that Islam is the only acceptable Religion with God.

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria, through history, Faces Various Forms of Trials -Malama Zeenah

For any successful Movement, the right procedures have to be followed. Certainly, with correct methodology, trials in various forms come.
That is why some people are reluctant to follow the model set by the Prophet. These were part of the remarks made by Malama Zeenat Ibrahim during a lecture she delivered on Saturday, 19th May, 2012 at the 23rd Annual National Conference on Islamic thought held at Gusau, Zamfara State. The occasion was organized by the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.
The topic of her presentation was ‘the history of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria’. Before going into the mainstream, malama reminded the audience on the mission of man on the Earth. She noted that with the amalgamation of the soul and the physical body, man tends to forget his covenant with the Creator (SWT). Those who fulfill the covenant shall prosper. Otherwise it is everlasting torment that waits.
Prior to the Islamic resurgence, the enemies were comfortable that they have conquered the Muslim Lands. In our case, Shehu Fodio (TR) denounced obedience to ungodly Kingdom rulers and proclaimed that ‘there is No king as God’. He faced the consequences: attempts to extinguish the light of Islam and exterminate his life. Islam was established against all odds. History accounts for later happenings. Since then there was no call to go back to Islam until this call by the revered Sheikh Zakzaky (H) in the late 70’s.
In those days, asserted Malama, people tend to shy away from being associated with Islam or recognized as Muslims. Sisters with custom head wears were harassed talk less of those with hijab. There were cherished ideologies, especially communism. People could not understand that Islam is more than an ideology. It is a complete way of life. For religiously minded elites, they were lured into infiltrating into the system so as to dominate the vital sectors with the delusion that one day they just declare an Islamic State!
Meanwhile the nascent Movement led by Sheikh (H) strove and set the Qur’an as the practical model to follow by its adherents. Mujahada, more especially night (tahajjud) prayer observed in one third of the night and complete recitation of the Qur’an in a month were sustained. Malama seized the opportunity to encourage brothers and sisters to sustain those minimum practices and many more.
Brothers and sisters loyal to the Call were then recognized as ‘students’ because many activities were conducted under the platform of the Muslim Students’ Society (MSS).Sheikh Zakzaky (H) had brought great transformations in the MSS, more especially in the conduct of the Islamic Vacation Course (IVC). It was during the IVC at Funtua that Malam (H) made the famous ‘Funtua Declaration’. He denounced any allegiance to the Nigerian Kufr System as entrenched by the colonial masters and affirmed loyalty to the rule of Allah alone. The first procession was done in Zaria to buttress the declaration.
The Movement then became distinct. So instead of special classes during IVC, more frequent 3- day Ijtima’i sessions were instituted. These were conducted from Friday to Sunday on stipulated schedules usually alternated between ABU and BUK mosques. During the hostage crisis which resulted after the success of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, another ‘Islam only’ procession was staged in Zaria.
In the course of her speech, Malama was quick to mention that the aim of the Islamic Movement is to get an excuse (ma’ziratan) from Allah (SWT) for one’s role in the kufr set up in the country. She cited the example of the Jews who violated God’s commandment on stipulated fishing days. All perished except those who spoke against the violation. She also recollected that before the Funtua declaration, Malam (H) quoted the hadith where Imam Ali said that whoso ever do not attempt to stop tyranny by his deeds or speech, then God has right to take him to the same abode as the tyrants.
The speaker was forced by time constraints to stop at this rather mid juncture. Before concluding, Malama Zeenat reemphasized the fact that the Movement is not a power or money seeking affair. It is an affair to get closer to Allah (SWT). The establishment of an Islamic System is but a bye product. She also emphasized on the fact that allegiance must be to only ONE leader, in our case Sheikh Zakzaky (H). He is divinely appointed. There should never be a divided loyalty.

The Revolutionary wave is coming to Nigeria – Malam Turi at Gusau

By Dauda Nalado On Saturday, 19th May 2012, the topic: ‘State of the Muslim Ummah’ was presented by Malam Muhammad Mahmud Turi at the 23rd
annual National Conference on Islamic thought organized by the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement. The event took place at Sambo Secondary School Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State.
Malam Turi noted that the Current revolutionary waves in the Middle East and North Africa are as a result of the global Islamic awakening, an offshoot of the Islamic revolution in Iran. He, however, cautioned that there are tendencies for the revolutions to be hijacked. In Egypt for example, the Military is still in control. Before dispersing from Tahrir Square, Egyptians could have insisted on the formation of an interim Government. Revolution has two pillars: Leadership and System. In Iran they had a concrete leader with unflinching loyalty and they opted for an Islamic System.
In continuation of his speech, Malam Turi observed that the World is divided into two: Hizbullahi and Hizbusshaitan. The apartheid and illegal Israel, USA and other World Kufr are desperate to destroy the ONLY Islamic Republic. So they are in dire need to get a stooge Government in Syria in order to paralyze the Iran-Syria-Lebanon (Hizbullah)-Hamas connection.
The speaker summarized the current happenings in the Muslim Ummah as follows: That
·         Current revolutionary waves have their roots in the Islamic Republic in Iran
·         There are attempts to hijack these trends
·         The revolutionary wave is coming to Nigeria
·         There is tendency to impose a pseudo-revolution on people yearning for change (Libya is a typical example)
He noted that history repeats itself. He recalled that before the said independence in Nigeria, people were of the belief that the global wave of nationalist calls for independence from the colonial arrogance would not reach Nigeria. Alas! It came with all the vigour and by 1960 Nigeria was there!
Under this assertion, therefore, Malam Turi cautioned that there must be a leadership and a System. We are lucky we have Sayyid Zakzaky (H) and the unarguable system is the Islamic one. He observed rightly that the tyrants and tyranny in Nigeria keep on coming down while Islam continuously goes up. The Shayateen keep on dreaming on how to extinguish the light of Islamic Awakening. So they set anarchy and rampant killings as the order of the day. Our weapon, admonished Malam Turi, is to strive and be close to Allah (SWT).

in Nigeria Sheikh ibraheem Zakzaky. He delivered the speech  to the members on Sunday the 20th of may 2012 at the Hall of Secondary School T/Wada Gusau.

He spoke on the importance of sound thinking and ideology because of their importance to man.  In another part of his speech he stressed the necessity and importance of proffer understanding of one’s religion as well as his era. He said understanding these two is a prerequisite to knowing things that could be of benefit to hm.
On challenges facing the Muslim Ummah, sheikh Zakzaky expressed that some of the problems faced by the Ummah nowadays include ridiculing of its religion by the enemies.
In another part he said the Ummah should be happy for the following reasons:
1.      1. That the book of Allah is preserved without any adulteration or interpolation by any; whereas other divine books have been changed to the extent that original Torah or Bible cannot be found now.
2.      2. That the true religion of Islam still exists. No matter the change of time, adherents of true religion of Islam can be found even if their number is few.
3.    3.   Islam shall come back and lead the world.

We hold government responsible for the killing of Muhammad Ali- Malam Turi

By Ibrahim Usman-Muhammad Mahmoud Turi, accussed government as responsible for the recent killing of a member of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria
and the spate of killings across the land.
Turi made the accusation at a press conferece following killing brother Muhammad Ali by unknown gunmen in his Kano residence.
He argued that, “It is obvious that government is an accomplice to the cold blood murder of our brother. This is because security of people’s lives and property is the responsibility of government, and when it cannot discharge this responsibility by way of protection or arresting the culprits, the government is of no use to the citizens”.
He wondered how unknown gunmen could break into people’s houses, kill them and walk away freely, while the government boasts of adequate security and spending huge amount of money on it. He pointed out that, citizens, irrespective of poitical or social staus, have equal right to protection of life and property.
Turi further disclosed that, before the tragic event, members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under Sheikh Zakzaky had over the years been receiving threats to their lives as group and individuals from various quarters. According to him, two years ago a leaked security report had indicated a plan to launch onsalught on individual members of the Movement in their houses or while on transit, in the guise of armed robbery incident.

He said, part of the plan by government to crush the Islamic Movement, according to the security report, was to plan explosive devices during the Movement’s gatherings and make it look like terrorist activity. “So what happened to our brother we anticipated in the last two years”, he said.
