Islamic Movement (IM) Production.

Islamic Movement production (IM production) is a unit of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria led by Shaikh Ibraheem Ya’quob Zakzaky (H). It is a unit just like the Medical Team, Sisters Forum, and Academic Forum etc .  It was established in the year 2002 and incorporated in the year 2006. The mission of IM Production is to produce films that are Islamically oriented with the view to re-orient and propagate Islamic beliefs, values and cultures throughout the world. In this regard we hope to make IM Productions a world class film making company driven by absolute commitment and defense of Islam.
We intend to procure all necessary equipments to make IM Production a truly world class film Industry. As there is no film village in Nigeria , we are currently building our film village in DAMBO, a village at the outskirts of Zaria .
IM Production emerged as a result of efforts made by Sisters Forum in their attempt to provide meaningful contributions to the progress of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria and indeed the world. This came about as result of the advice given to Sisters Forum by the Leader of the Movement, Shaikh Zakzaky (H) to take steps towards self reliance so that their activities will be funded through self efforts instead of through donations.
Sequel to this advice, the Sisters Forum headed by Malama Zeenat Ibraheem resolved to make a film on the struggle of Imam Hussein (AS). That film was named KARBALA and it was made in two parts. Part one was lunched by the leader of the Islamic Movement in Kano in 2002 and part two was lunched in Kaduna in 2003. It was at this lunching that Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) threw a challenge to the Sister’s Forum to make a film on the life of Shaikh Uthman Ibn Fodio - the 19th century Islamic revolutionary in this part of the World.
Soon after the lunching, a committee was formed to ensure that the film was successfully produced. The committee was charged with the responsibility of gathering all data in respect of the history and struggle of Shaikh Uthman Ibn Fodio.  In this respect, the committee consulted a number of  scholars in Sokoto, Zaria , and Kano . The committee also did extensive research at the History Bureau in Sokoto. A lot of materials were obtained there that proved very useful and helpful.  In addition to these, some members of the Haram (Hubbare) of Shaikh Uthman were interviewed. This is the burial site of Shaikh Uthman Ibn Fodio, his son Muhammad Bello and some his companions.
The data gathered were later given to selected brothers who are lecturers  at  Uthman Ibn Fodio University Sokoto for study and review. The aim is to remove materials that do not truly represent the life and struggle of Ibn Fodio. It was the result of this study that was later transformed into screen play in consultation with some professionals in the film Industry.
In July, 2005 the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria launched an appeal fund towards making the film on the life and struggle of Shaikh Uthman Ibn Fodio at Arewa House in Kaduna . On this occasion Shaikh Zakzaky (H)  explained that it was necessary to make a film on this revered personality for a number of reasons.
Shaikh` Zakzaky explained that it was the duty of the Islamic Movement to make this film since Nigerian government and Northern state governments had refused to live to their responsibility.
The history of Shaikh Uthman was deliberately and completely distorted. He is being portrayed as a traditional ruler instead of a religious scholar and a revolutionary. It was therefore the duty of Islamic Movement to make a film on the life of the Shaikh so that the world would be truly informed about his life and struggle in the path of Allah (TA).
It is hoped that the film would also inspire this generation of our people and indeed future generations to have a re-think towards changing this decadent society. We also hope it will be an inspiration to the entire Muslim Ummah.
As soon as we have successfully produced the film of Shaikh Fodio, we shall commence making other films on the struggle of Sultan Attahiru who was martyred by the British colonialist in 1903 and other leading Islamic personalities.

The Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky reiterates the importance of supporting Zahra Relief Foundation.
He made the call during the closing program of Ashura Mourning gathering at Husaniyyah Baqiyyatullah Zaria on Satuday the 24th of December,2011.

He  explained that the Foundation’s  major task is to help the poor and needy in the society and therefore called on people to donate  to the Foundation. He emphases on the importance of developing and adopting culture of giving out charity at all times.
To demonstrate  practically Sayyid Zakzaky gave out money as charity to the Foundation and noted that boxes will be strategically mounted at different places for people to give as little as they can to the Foundation.
Sayyid Zakzkay also called on all to contribute in cash and kinds towards the construction of Husainiiyah Baqiyyatullah which can serve as center for Imam Husain(AS)'s  mourning gatherings as well other important activities like research and study.
