The
Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the Leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem
Zakzaky marked its annual Martyrs day on Saturday the 22nd of Rajab
1434(1st of June 2013) at Polo Ground, close to Husainiyyah
Baqiyyatullah Zaria.
The programme was attended by massive number of people from different part of the country.
The
annual gathering is marked to remember the Movement's matrys who figure
now reached 137 . Pictures of the martys where raised up in the sky.
the occasion was made colouful with parades too. Describing the
activities of the Shuhada Foundation of Islamic Movement, the Chairman
of the Foundaton Mallam Abdulhamid Bello, outlined the achievements of
the Foundation during the year as well as the challenges it is facing in
taking the care of the children and dependants of martrys whose number
reached 256.
He
further explained that the Foundation as part of its activities is
sponsoring the education of the children of the martrys upto University
levels in addition to other aspects such as health, skills acquisation
and continous assistance to them. He urged all and sundry to double
efforts in giving out the stipulated monthly contributions in order to
meet up with the challenges.
In
his the speech the Leader of the Islamic Movement spoke on the merit
martrydom. He said those achieved martrydom are not dead in reality in
accordance with Qur'anic verses. He said they are living though not
physically present, yet they witnessed what is happenings. He furtehr
said, according to hadeeth a believer after death do visit his family
at least once in a week.
Other
issues discussed by the leader include the rights of the martyrs upon
the livings, the Rights of the Families and Dependents, the words of
caution to killers of the Believers, issues regardings various failed
plots targeted against the Movement, the flight of Muslims, enemies
plots against Islam in general and others issues.
Gifts items and trophies were presented to individuals and group by Sheikh Zakzaky for their contributions to the Foundation.
